The long transfer saga has eventually come to its end. Christiano Ronaldo-CR7 finally sealed his dream move to his childhood club REAL MADRID. He joined Man Utd in year 2001 from Portugal league as an unknown teenager. Many soccer pundits have raised their eye brows when Sir Alex Ferguson cash in the money received from David Beckham’s sale on the Portuguese winger. Now it proves the deal was a great investment.
Ronaldo was purchased at £12.24m and sold at £80m. He joined the club as unknown player and left the club as the FIFA World Footballer of the year. He has won all possible trophies in English Premier League with Man Utd with 1 FIFA World Club Cup, 1 Champions League Cup, 3 English Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups. He has proven himself in England soil and is looking forward to prove himself in Spanish Liga.
As a red devil fan, I welcome his departure. Ronaldo has been expressing his desire to move to REAL MADRID since more than 1 year ago and Man Utd is right to grant his wish at this lot of money.
We must give chance to the others like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Man Utd has been dominating English games for 3 years and we all understand that monopoly does not do any good to the games and therefore we are willingly to open up the competition by selling out our key player.
Whatsoever, Man Utd plays as a team and does not rely on individual player like Liverpool relies on Torres & Gerard, Arsenal relies on Fabregas and Chelsea relies on Frank Lampard. Certainly the departure of CR7 will cause an irreplaceable figure in the game but this will also give the opportunity to other youngsters like Nani, Tosic to shine.
Many Red Devil fans’ hearts were broken when David Beckham moved to Real Madrid 8 years ago. But soon he was forgotten after the arrival of Ronaldo. History seems repeats itself again when Ronaldo moves to the same destination and I believe he will be soon be forgotten when Man Utd keeps winning in the way they always do.
Goodbye Ronaldo! We see you in the champions league in Europe.
